The best destination is rarely the one that is most visible on social media that week. Start with the experience you want: swimming, city walks, hiking, food, winter atmosphere or simply reliable sunshine.
Next, look at season rather than just temperature. Shoulder months can offer better light, lower prices and fewer crowds, but some islands or resort areas may have reduced services outside the main season.
Then match the trip length to the destination. A three-night city break needs different flight times and transfer logic than a one-week island stay. A cheap fare is not truly cheap if it removes most of the first and last day.
Finally, compare the full trip rather than one attractive price. Flights, baggage, airport transfer, accommodation location and meal costs belong in the same calculation. A slightly higher headline price can still produce the easier and better-value trip.
