- Remember that Cam Ranh Airport lies about 30 km south of Nha Trang’s beachfront; a shuttle bus or taxi from outside the terminal takes you into the city, so allow extra time on the way back to catch a flight.
- Have bún chả cá, Nha Trang’s signature noodle soup with steamed and fried fish cakes and slivers of jellyfish, and try bánh căn, small crisp rice-flour cakes, as a second course.
- Time a visit for the Po Nagar festival on the 20th–23rd days of the third lunar month, usually in April, when the goddess’s statue is bathed and dressed in new robes.
- The Po Nagar towers, built between the 8th and 13th centuries, honour Yan Po Nagar, called Thiên Y A Na in Vietnamese — the mother goddess said to have taught the Cham to grow rice and weave.
